Tarabino Inn is a beautifully restored Victorian-era mansion built in 1907 during Trinidad's boom years. Designed in a rare Italianate-Victorian style, the home showcases ornate woodwork, antique furnishings, and one of the city's most distinctive historic porches.

A New Chapter

Under Jeanne’s ownership since April 2026, the Inn has returned to its roots as a full-service bed and breakfast, offering fresh breakfasts, afternoon wine and cheese, community gatherings, art-filled spaces, and thoughtful hospitality.

The Tarabino Family

When you stay at Tarabino Inn, you're experiencing the legacy of one of Trinidad's most successful early business families.

John Tarabino and his brother Barney immigrated from northern Italy in the late 1800s. After arriving in southern Colorado, they established The Famous Department Store on Main Street, which became one of Trinidad's leading retail businesses. John served as president of the company, while Barney was vice president, helping build a thriving enterprise that served the growing community.

Their success made it possible to build this remarkable home in 1907. Designed as a shared residence for the two brothers and their families, the house features a distinctive mirrored layout with a grand central entrance and two nearly identical wings. More than a century later, much of the original craftsmanship—including the woodwork, staircase, decorative columns, chandeliers, and architectural details—remains beautifully preserved.

Today, Tarabino Inn continues that tradition of hospitality, welcoming guests to experience the history, craftsmanship, and enduring legacy of the Tarabino family.
